I decided to surprise Ryan with dinner last night. I was so excited all day to try this new recipe, and it did not disappoint!! For all of you Bulkogi fans out there (or for any of you who want to try a new recipe) you should try this one. After dinner Ryan started pronouncing my name in Korean, and named me "Ky-Hawk" (anyone eaten at Sam Hawk in Provo??) Which means that my husband definitely loved the meal & loved the surprise!!

Note: Ryan served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) church in Korea. He lived there for 2 years for his mission, and then went back for an internship after that.
Ingredients
* 3 tablespoons soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon sesame oil
* 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
* 2 tablespoon minced garlic
* 2 teaspoon white sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional- the soy sauce has lots of sodium)
* 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon cumin
* 1 teaspoon red pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
* 1/4 teaspoon sirachi sauce (optional for spiciness)
* 1 teaspoon honey
* 1 tablespoon corn syrup
* 1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced (you can use any type of steak- and
ask the man behind the meat counter to slice it for you!)
* 1 green onion, chopped
* 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
Directions
1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, garlic, sugar, salt, black pepper. Place beef, and onions in the bag; seal, and shake to coat the vegetables and beef with the sauce. Refrigerate for at least 2 1/2 hours. I prefer to marinate mine overnight.
2. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Remove meat and vegetables from marinade, and place on a large sheet of aluminum foil; seal. Discard marinade.
3. Place on grill, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or to desired doneness.
Serve with rice and lettuce leafs (if you want to eat as lettuce wraps like we do!) Next time I'll try to make those yummy Korean potatoes & I will buy some good Kimchi (which is growing on me!!) It makes a great meal on its own, or you can serve with steamed vegetables.
Enjoy!!
