NYC: Girls Weekend

I love NYC! It's one of those city's you can go back to time and time again and see and do things you didn't do the previous time. It just never gets old.

The stars aligned when we were able to plan a girls weekend in NYC the days following my meetings in Purchase & that it was my birthday weekend! We were so excited to spend time together and explore the city - and our weekend did not disappoint! The only thing we were missing was my younger sister, Ashley, who couldn't make the trip with her sweet little baby in tow. Next time, for sure!

Our weekend was a great mix of hanging out, eating good food, exercise (hello walking 5-8 miles a day) and enjoying fabulous weather (until Sunday that is) and each others company.

We started with a walk through times square...

And ended up in Central Park riding bikes-- so fun!!

After Central Park we found ourselves walking through Soho -- something new for us! We loved it! Although it was sad when we walked into a crime scene investigation --- too sad to take picture of that. And exciting when we saw a full model shoot! All new NYC things for us :) We found some new stores to explore and also old favorites. Oh, and of course yummy food.

Love love love Greenwich Village -another new neighborhood for us!
Just after getting our make up done at Bloomies we took a quick walk to Greenwich Village for dinner! I love this photo.
The peonies were an added bonus to my dinner experience. The Little Owl was a PERFECT Birthday dinner!!!
We got to write in a journal after dinner -- thanks to my sweet mama for a memorable 27th!
Of course we finished the night at Chocolate by the bald man!
Day 2 started at Mood Fabric.

The gardens were stunning at Rockefeller Plaza.
Our plans for Saturday including shopping .... and maybe another makeover at Bloomies!
Thanks Dad!! :)

Heaven for a pregnant woman!
After a day of shopping, and yes, a 2nd makeover at Bloomies, we had dinner in Time Square at John's Pizzeria. The wait was long but worth it! Coalfire pizza is oh so yummy and it was the perfect location before heading to our show.
We loved Nick Jonas in How to Succeed in Business!!
Another first -- bracing the crowds to catch a glimpse at celebrities!

After waiting around for Michael Ulrie (and maybe Nick Jonas) to show up (we did get a close encounter with Beau Bridges) it started to POUR. We walked the 10 blocks back to our hotel and ended up like this!

Day 2 started with an awesome breakfast before heading over to the 9/11 memorial.

The memorial was beautiful, and somber. I'm glad we went on a Sunday morning -- it seemed fitting. The rain wasn't too bad to deal with and kept the crowds away.

My favorite ladies in front of the Survivor Tree.
Of course next we headed to church at the NYC church/temple.

Where I got to meet this handsome man! Hudson Max Poll -- what a gem!

Love love love these friends and their sweet new baby! So grateful they braced the rain to come see us!!

We finished our NYC experience with this view while we had lunch in Columbus circle.

Thanks Mom and Dad for an amazing birthday weekend in NYC! It was memorable and of course we are planning our next girls weekend for 2014! (We figure we'll let the boys have a year to do a man trip). What's next on our list? Maybe a race/spa weekend...
